    Toyota Astra Motor is one of the biggest Brand Holder Agents in Indonesia. They started operations in April 1971, and currently the shares are divided between PT Astra International Tbk and Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan. At the beginning of the business, Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) moved as a distributor and importer of Toyota from Japan. Dealers under their management are not more than five. One of the first cars that they marketed was the Toyota FJ SUV, or better known as the Hardtop.

    Over time, TAM developed into a producer. Precisely in 1973, with a strong desire to be able to determine quality checks independently, Astra International established PT Multi Astra and began assembling its own Toyota products in Indonesia. A government regulation requiring the use of local components was answered by the company in 1976. Six years later, Toyota and Astra began investing in self-assembling machines for their products in Sunter, North Jakarta.

    Now, the Toyota car assembly center is handled by PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN), whose shares are controlled by Toyota Motor Corporation by 95 percent, while the rest is held by Astra International. This assembly center makes Innova, Fortuner (petrol), Avanza, Rush and Toyota Dyna trucks. Not only providing cars for the local market, but also exporting to several countries in Asia and Latin America. In this place the latest Toyota engines are also assembled to meet their needs, with a local content of more than 60 percent. Not surprisingly, the Toyota center sees this as a very valuable asset for them.

    The strong desire to invest in assembling and providing sales networks and after-sales services has opened the market. Toyota products are so accepted by the people of Indonesia, until now. Ranging from minibuses, crossovers, sedans to trucks available for various groups.

    In addition, the availability of sales networks to remote areas also makes it easy for people to find Toyota. Both the car and after sales service.
